Galaxy S7 Burns Up Without it Being Charged

There's been a lot of attention on the malfunctioning batteries of the Galaxy Note 7, but it seems the Galaxy S7 is catching fire too. Yesterday, it was reported that a teacher was using her S7 in a cage (while it wasn't charging), and all of a sudden it overheated and started filling spewing smoke. The Sun even has surveillance video of what happened.

LG and Samsung are Being Sued Over Alleged Antitrust Violations

It is illegal for two companies to collude and agree to not poach employees from each other. However, A. Frost claims LG & Samsung have agreed to exactly that. Frost says he was contacted by a headhunter on LinkedIn back in 2013. When the headhunter found out Frost worked for LG, they backed off and claimed the two companies had agreed to not poach from each other.

Some iPhone 7 Models Will Use Intel Basebands

Analysts are reporting that Intel is leveraging its purchase of Infineon Technologies' Wireless Solutions business, Avago Technologies network business, and Lantiq to replace Qualcomm as the supplier of cellular radios for some models of the iPhone 7. Apple has a history of attempting to dual-source their components, and the baseband was a key part that until recently they were sourcing exclusively from Qualcomm. This change is believed to be one of the key reasons that Apple dropped CDMA support from some iPhone 7 models.

OnePlus Working Towards Enabling VoLTE Support on the OnePlus 2 Via Upcoming OTA in “Next Quarter”

OnePlus 2 users have been vocal about their displeasure on the lack of VoLTE support on the device, and OnePlus has finally listened. The VoLTE update for the OnePlus 2 users will roll out in the next quarter, which could be anywhere between October to December. Meanwhile, users on Reliance Jio can peruse the Jio4GVoice (JioJoin) app to make HD calls.
