Beats by Dr. Dre has long been a household name when it comes to audio appliances, ranging from headphones all the way up to speakers. The Apple-owned company, first founded by Dr. Dre, has put a long list of devices to the market aimed at enhancing your listening experience. But the BeatsX Wireless Earphones is a particular product because it has the Apple W1 chip, meaning that it has all of the same special features that you’ll be able to find in the AirPods, including improved efficiency and fast pairing on iOS devices. The BeatsX has been replaced by the Beats Flex, which already came out for the low price of $50. So, while they were $100, the newer Beats Flex was a no-brainer. Each product has its pros and cons: the formerly-more-expensive BeatsX features a slightly more premium feel, and you also get ear tips with ear hooks if you’re into that sort of thing. In the sound department, they sound roughly the same, with minor differences here and there. You’d really be hard-pressed to find any better offering for the price. BeatsX work on both Android and iOS devices. In the case of iOS, you get all the added benefits the Apple W1 chip gives you, but if you’re an Android user, you can expect to use these just like AirPods work on Android phones: just like any other Bluetooth headset. The BeatsX have been in the market for years, and now, they’re a low-cost alternative to AirPods that brings a similar set of features while not breaking the bank.
